Lancing for me. Checked Shoreham first and it looked good with swell coming in chunky sets. Shorebreak was too tall and too sucky at that point (1pm) but lots of wind. We trotted along to Lancing and sure enough the launch was already easy, with just a normal wade out through the shallower water. Wind was cross on, but soon veered to quite onshore. Waves were quite sweet actually, good shoulder-sized swell stretching into curved, lipping faces. I was on 5m and wind was ok, but lully later. Been a while, but enjoyed some waist twisting, knee bendin', butt wiggling clew first down the line. Laying the sail right down to beat the onshore. Upwind smacks were a joy and each wave reformed 2 or 3 times into the shallows.

Rip and lulls was a tough combo, but at 3:30 the wind upped and the rip seemed to switch off. Kites arrived then to pick on the bones like crows on the scraps of a road kill.
